After impressing in the role during pre-season John Cookson has been confirmed as club captain, replacing the injured Dan Godfrey. Cookie first joined the club in the 2006/07 promotion season and after a trophyless two year spell away from the Strokers he returned for another promotion and cup win last year. With the challenge of the Premier Division fast approaching his undoubted leadership skills will no doubt be tested to the maximum. Leading by example on and off the field we all look forward to the new skipper taking us in to the next chapter of our history.
